Costa Blanca News Reviews

Looking around at news sites relevant to the Costa Blanca, I have found that the quality and content vary, from local and national coverage to those just trying to sell books. Rather than pick an RSS feed for my site, thought it would be better to describewhat you get on the various sites to save you time and effort. So at the risk of upsetting some people, here are my comments on each one:

DailySpain.com is a pure news site covering national and international news. Sections include Spanish, World, Football & Business. Well presented an easy to navigate.

Google News - has snippets from all other sources, so you can get pretty much what you want if you have the time. Tends to mix advertising or ad based stuff with the headlines, but isn’t it a sin to criticise Google?

 Costablanca News - This is a local newspaper, also online and covers mainly local subjects and has a good section on entertainment, TV & Radio etc., Has regional parts so you can choose the area. The main English newspaper for the region.

The Leader Newspaper -  Just a few headlines but various items of local interest to browse.

Typically Spanish  - A few local and national stories from each day and a today news in the sidebar which you might miss. Covers all the regions and worth a visit I think.

 Round Town News - This is a free paper and they are really trying hard online. Limited news coverage but lots of info on various aspects of life here. Can be a little tedious to read, but that’s rich coming from me!

Why do some sites try to get you to use their toolbar, a bit annoying after a while!  More later………………….
