Free Healthcare in the Valencian Region?

It's Twu! It's Twu!If you get your car insurance through Saga like me, or not, a really good source of information for moving to Spain is the Age Concern Espana website. They have a series of fact sheets like this one on healthcare Costa Blanca, being in the Valencian region, has special free healthcare provisions for

Anna and Denise got together last year to use their talents and enthusiasm in the design and making of bespoke soft furnishings, for homes and boats. From a complete designed makeover to single items

Here’s more of the same following my first post IS & B Reviews. Costa Blanca Expats is the first one I have stumbled across that seems to be reasonably well updated and “does what it says on the can”

Although not the most visually exciting site on earth, it delivers articles on many aspects of life and property ownership here on the CB, mainly from personal accounts. An absence of blatant links is encouraging.

The legal section is excellent which includes one man’s account of car importation, hurdles associated with buying property, residence, healthcare and taxation.

Other items include checklists for moving in, and lists of radio stations, available TV sources, newspapers and even market days.

There are commercial links, but they are listed as such and not rammed down your throat. Well worth a visit I would say

A total contrast is the Costa Blanca Directory.

This site is a portal for other websites, so a useful resource if you are looking for services or to buy things. There are some articles, of a general nature, a weather page and a list of emergency numbers. As a portal for services, it could be useful. Businesses can be listed for free, so that can’t be bad!

Info Costa Blanca says has information on the area and property, so as they are being very honest and they have some good features, so why not have a look?

Info Costa BlancaTown page on Info Costa Blanca

There are some nice photos, road maps and other info on the various coastal towns including points of interest, beaches, phone numbers, fiesta times and transport links. Also trips to the local sightseeing places and a section on food and wine. Some links to municipal sites and a few commercial ones. Just a few banners at the bottom, but not rammed down your throat, a good effort

The Javea Online Directory has lots of info on that particular area and beyond. Headings include business services, property for sale and rent, a sports section, list of clubs and a list of golf courses. Resaturants are well covered, although you will see that the “culture” heading hasn’t much in it, but then it can be a bit of a cultural desert in the coastal areas. In the property purchase section, there is information on taxes, laws and an fairly recent, interesting article on the LRAU & LUV (land grab laws). (It is even more important to ensure that any property is checked out and is not going to be affected by the continuing farce of this much abused law.-Ed) The site is well presented and has commercial banners and links with references to businesses in the articles, such as tax planners and abogados, which is fair do’s.
